Intercollegiate meet
Department of Commerce, Lady Doak College, Madurai, organised an intercollegiate meet EMPHORIA–2026, with 266 participants from 13 colleges across Tamil Nadu.
During the event, chief guest, Poornima Venkatesh, Correspondent, Sitalakshmi Girls Higher Secondary School and Executive Director, DOTCOM INFOWAY, inspired students to dream big, remain resilient, and pursue their goals with patience, positive perception, and persistence.
SV Suraj Sundara Shankar, Proprietor, SVS Foods (P) Ltd., emphasised the importance of continuous upskilling to meet evolving industry expectations.
Various competitions were conducted. Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi, won the overall championship, while Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, emerged as the runners-up.

Lakshmi School celebrated its Silver Jubilee. Speaking at the event, chief guest, Shankar Vanavarayar, president of Kumaraguru group of institutions, highlighted the role of education in shaping responsible and socially conscious citizens.
A Silver Jubilee Commemorative Structure was unveiled, symbolising the institution’s enduring legacy.
President of Lakshmi Vidhya Sangham Shobana Ramachandran, dignitaries from Lakshmi Vidya Sangham Manimeghalai and Lalitha Priyadarshini, were present.

Speaking at the event, Principal D. Sarala Thambavani highlighted the institution’s consistent excellence and announced two new academic programmes for the Academic year 2026–2027, B.Sc. Computer Science – Artificial Intelligence and B.B.A. Aviation Management.
Chief guest N. Panchanatham, Gandhigram Rural Institute Vice-Chancellor spoke on the significance of education and the importance of resilience and ethical values.
More than 90% of graduates secured first class, among them seven graduates achieved university ranks.

Rajan School celebrated its Annual Day over two days. First, the annual day for the Nursery and Primary School wings was held. Boominathan Madurai South MLA was the chief guest. Second, it was held at Matriculation Higher Secondary. Renowned writer Adhavan was the chief guest. Prizes were distributed.

Mother Teresa Women’s University – Research and Extension Centre, Madurai (EDC Cell), in association with the Educational Trust of India, Voluntary Association for People’s Service (VAPS), and Green Fem Producers Company Limited, organised a one-day workshop on ‘Achieving Gender Equality through Financial Independence – Success Journey of Women Entrepreneurs’ at Keelakuyilkudi, Madurai.
Speaking at the event, M. Pushpa Rani, Director, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, emphasised that financial independence is the backbone of gender equality.
M. Subburajan, Team Leader, VAPS, highlighted that women entrepreneurs today are firmly establishing themselves both economically and socially.
Chief guest, R. Elamathi, Director, Green Fem Producers Company Limited, emphasised that women should move beyond being job seekers to becoming job creators through entrepreneurship.
The workshop benefited more than 300 students.
