The Chevayur police arrested a 58-year-old man on charge of sexually assaulting a woman with mental disability at a lodge in Koyilandy. The arrested is P.K. Rashik, 58, from Karuvissery.
According to the police, the incident took place on September 20, 2026. The accused allegedly took the woman in a car to the lodge and reportedly assaulted her.
Following a complaint from the woman, the Chevayur police registered a case and launched an investigation. Acting on confidential information received by the Special Branch that the accused was in Kozhikode, the police traced and took him into custody. The accused was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody on Thursday (September 24, 2026).
