The cybercrime police in Coimbatore city on Tuesday arrested the owner of a digital marketing firm for bombarding a former woman employee with cash on delivery (CoD) parcels, allegedly to avenge her for quitting the job and starting her own digital marketing business.
The police said that Sathishkumar (39) of Kovaipudur in the city was arrested based on a complaint lodged by the former employee aged 25, after she received more than 100 CoD parcels per day on some days.
According to police, the woman from Ganapathy in the city started her own digital marketing business after leaving the firm of the accused at Puliakulam in 2023.
Delivery agents of e-commerce companies started visiting her residence with hundreds of parcels registered to her address on CoD mode some months ago.
The woman approached the cybercrime police suspecting that someone who has enmity with her was ordering the parcels, as she had been receiving them for the past six months.
The police registered a case and arrested Sathishkumar on Tuesday. He was produced before a court and was remanded in judicial custody.Â
