A local court in Meerut on Wednesday (October 14, 2026) sentenced Muskan Rastogi and her partner Sahil Shukla to death in the high-profile ‘Blue Drum’ murder case.

Muskan allegedly murdered her husband, Saurabh Rastogi, with the help of Shukla on March 3, 2025. According to the case details, the victim was first rendered unconscious using sedatives. The accused then allegedly dismembered his body, placed the remains inside a blue plastic drum and sealed it with cement to conceal the crime.

On September 30, 2026, the Meerut district court held Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla guilty of the murder of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput in the sensational “Blue Drum” murder case, bringing the trial to an end after 13 months and 126 hearings.

The prosecution examined 22 witnesses, including those connected with the purchase of the blue drum, which has since become emblematic of violent infidelity.

The final arguments were over on September 17, 2026.
