Migrant worker electrocuted after snapped power line falls on him

A 35-year-old migrant worker from West Bengal was killed after a high-tension power line snapped and fell on him at a construction site in Puzhal on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Alamgi, 35, was employed as a mason and was staying at an under-construction building on the 9th Street in Kavankarai near Puzhal. Police said that Alamgi was seated at the entrance of the building when an overhead high-voltage cable suddenly snapped and fell on him, resulting in a fatal electric shock. He died on the spot.
