Bhongir Congress MP Chamala Kiran Reddy stressed the need to introduce Regional Rapid Transit Corridors (RRTC) in major cities, including Hyderabad, to improve urban liveability, promote sustainable development and strengthen regional connectivity for nearly eight surrounding districts.
He attended a meeting of the Standing Committee on Housing and Urban Affairs, chaired by Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy, MP from Ongole, in New Delhi on Tuesday.
He informed the Committee that key infrastructure proposals of the Telangana government — the Regional Ring Road, Regional Ring Rail and Metro Rail Phase-II — were pending with the Government of India. The MP said early approvals and coordinated support from the Centre would be crucial for balanced regional growth and decongestion of Hyderabad.
