Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, at his Delhi residence on Saturday, hosted and interacted with three innovators from Karnataka’s coastal region who were felicitated by the President on July 31 for receiving the Grassroots Innovator Recognition 2026 from NITI Aayog.
The innovators were Akshay Mashelkar of Experimind Labs Pvt. Ltd., Anusha Prajwal of MaVedas Foods and Cereals Pvt. Ltd., and Rathnakar Naik of WWR Innovations Pvt. Ltd. Their startups were incubated at the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC)-Nitte Incubation Centre, Nitte.
They received the recognition under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog.
Capt. Chowta posted on X on Saturday: “Their remarkable work demonstrates how grassroots innovation can solve real-world challenges and contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat.”
“It was a pleasure to host and interact with three outstanding innovators from Dakshina Kannada at my Delhi residence following their felicitation by the President of India under the Grassroots Innovator Recognition 2026 by NITI Aayog,” he wrote.
Capt. Chowta congratulated them for bringing national recognition to the coastal region. They were among 26 innovators selected across the country for the recognition.
The MP said in a release that the three recipients of the recognition are the ‘Bolpu’ (light or dawn) of Dakshina Kannada.
The three innovators shared their journey of innovation. They explained how their technology and new ideas are bringing positive change to the rural and grassroots levels.
Capt. Chowta encouraged them to develop more new projects that would be useful to society through solutions to real-world challenges using technology and innovation. He also promised to provide all necessary support to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the coastal region.
“Local research and self-reliance are the foundation to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India 2047. Local innovations in the fields of technology, agriculture, and science are strengthening the country economically. It is a matter of pride for the district that our young entrepreneurs and innovators from Dakshina Kannada are being recognised at the national level,” he said.
