Former Nellimarla MLA Baddukonda Appala Naidu on Saturday alleged that YSR Congress Party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had suspended him without valid reason and claimed that he had been misled by several persons who were responsible for the party’s defeat in the 2024 Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Appala Naidu said his brother-in-law Majji Srinivasa Rao joining the Telugu Desam Party should not be a reason for his suspension, as family members could choose different political parties for their political careers.

“If the relationship is the reason for my suspension, Mr. Jagan should not continue as YSRCP president as his own sister Y.S. Sharmila Reddy joined the Congress and became its Andhra Pradesh unit president,” he said.

Mr. Appala Naidu said he would decide on his future political course after consulting local party leaders and well-wishers.
