BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday alleged that the DMK government has failed to fill lecturer vacancies in higher educational institutions, thereby affecting the future of the youth.
In a post on X, Mr. Nagenthran said information obtained through the Right to Information Act revealed that more than 40% of the sanctioned lecturer posts were vacant in 12 of the 21 State universities, while the remaining nine universities had vacancies ranging between 15% and 40%.
He said nearly half of the lecturer posts remained vacant at the University of Madras, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Anna University, Bharathidasan University, and Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. This clearly showed the administrative failure of the DMK government, he said.
“Without providing basic facilities at educational institutions or filling vacant posts, the DMK government should be ashamed of holding publicity events and proclaiming that Tamil Nadu excels in education,” he charged.
