The New National Education Policy (NEP)–2020 is playing a vital role in achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Swarna Andhra’ by creating employment opportunities and helping eliminate poverty, said Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) national secretary Guntha Lakshman.
He was speaking as the keynote speaker at the State Faculty Training (Prant Abhyas Varg) organised by ABRSM Andhra Pradesh at K.L. University in Vijayawada. Mr. Lakshman said that within five years of implementation, NEP has already begun delivering positive results and would yield even stronger outcomes in the coming years.
He stressed that India’s education system should evolve in line with the country’s culture, values, ethics and humanism, while integrating ancient Indian knowledge systems to help India emerge as a global knowledge leader. He noted that ABRSM has been conducting regular workshops to familiarise teachers with NEP reforms and added that the organisation represents nearly 15 lakh teachers nationwide.
The two-day workshop featured deliberations by CBI former Joint Director V.V. Lakshmi Narayana, APSCHE chairman K. Madhu Murthy, KL University Pro-Chancellor Rajashekhar Rao, Seetakanth of Ramakrishna Mission and senior RSS leaders.
During the programme, faculty members submitted a memorandum seeking resolution of issues including recruitment, promotions, salary payments and infrastructure. Prof. Madhu Murthy assured that the concerns would be taken up with the government.
