Farmers in Telangana need not worry about the availability of urea during the ongoing Rabi season, as sufficient stocks are in place across the State, according to official sources.
Authorities have confirmed that nearly 2.25 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of urea are currently available with private dealers and government agencies, including cooperative societies and Markfed. The fertilizer is adequately stocked in all 32 districts, ensuring smooth supply for agricultural needs.
The Centre has allocated 10.40 lakh MT of urea to Telangana for the Rabi season. Of this, the State has already received 5.7 lakh MT, slightly exceeding the pro-rata requirement of 5.6 lakh MT scheduled from October. Farmers have so far purchased 3.71 lakh MT during the ongoing season.
