A third-year nursing student of a private college at Karungal has died after she allegedly attempted to kill herself on the college premises.
Police said Angelin Jiji, 21, from Neyyantinkara in Kerala allegedly jumped from the third floor of the college building on August 14 and was initially admitted to a private hospital at Marthandam. She was shifted to Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, on Saturday, where she died of her injuries on Sunday.
Based on a complaint of the victim’s mother, the Karungal police registered a case against college principal Sheeja, 48, of Karungal under Section 108 of BNS. Further investigation is on.
