The Coimbatore district administration has set October 18 as the deadline to receive applications for temporary firecracker shop licences in rural areas, excluding the Corporation limits.
Applications should be submitted through e-Seva centres under the Single Window System. Licences will be issued to eligible applicants from November 1.
Applicants must submit a site plan, ownership documents, and the current financial year’s property tax receipt. For rented premises, the owner’s property tax receipt and consent letter on a ₹20 stamp paper are required. A ₹700 licence fee challan, PAN, Aadhaar and family/smart card copies must also be submitted.
Shops must be on the ground floor, measure 9 sq. m to 25 sq. m and have two exits, including an emergency exit. The outlets must be at least 50 metres from specified institutions, public infrastructure, and inflammable materials, and three metres from other temporary firecracker shops. Shops cannot be set up in wedding halls, auditoriums, or community halls.
