Odisha Governor lays stress on cultural integration at ABVP State convention

Odisha Governor Kambhampati Haribabu has asked the student community to shoulder the responsibility of ensuring cultural integration among the diverse cultures and States of India.

Speaking at the 44th State convention of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) here on Sunday, Mr. Haribabu recalled his stint as Mizoram Governor, when he had facilitated a cultural exchange with the students arriving from the southern States.

“We can ensure national integrity only when the relationship with the northeastern States witnesses betterment. The ABVP’s Students Experience in Inter-State Living (SEIL) Project has made formidable achievement on this front,” he said.

Mr. Haribabu also urged the youth wing to launch a tirade against the rampant drug menace in the country and create awareness among fellow students on the impact of substance abuse not only for their own future but also of the country.

The ‘Janamanchi Gouriji Yuva Puraskar’ award was presented to Girish Nallagutta, founder of Madanapalle-based ‘Wellwisher’, a voluntary organisation. ABVP State president N. Srinivas read out the inspirational life of Gouriji.
