Several people walking in ‘Mangalore Can Walk-2026’, a morning walkathon held in Mangaluru on Sunday.

Over 1,200 runners, doctors, professionals and others took part in the ‘Mangalore Can Walk-2026’, a walkathon on cancer awareness, held on Sunday. The event was held on the occasion of World Cancer Day by KMC Hospital, in association with KMC Attavar Hospital, Indian Cancer Society, Mangalore Runners Club, Decathlon, and Bharath Mall.
The participants started to walk from the T.M.A Pai Convention Centre at 6 a.m. The walk concluded at the KMC Medical College building on Light House Hill Road. District Health and Family Welfare Officer H.R. Thimmaiah and Pro Vice Chancellor of MAHE, Mangaluru campus, Dilip G. Naik, flagged off the walk. Wenlock Hospital Superintendent D.S. Shivaprakash, KMC Hospital Attavar Medical Superintendent M. Chakrapani, and Convenor of Indian Cancer Society Swathi Acharya took part in the walk.
