Pay tax arrears by March 31 to avail of interest waiver: KMC chief to residents

Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha urged the citizens to make use of the 50% waiver on interest to be paid on property tax arrears.

Mr. Viswanatha said the government issued G.O. 58 facilitating a discount on the interest on property tax arrears, provided the assessees clear the entire dues before the end of the financial year (March 31). He said those who have already cleared the arrears will get the discount amount adjusted in the next financial year property tax.

Mr. Viswanatha asked the Corporation officials to spread awareness about the facility and make use of the scheme provided by the government through banners, social media platforms and announcements.
