A resolution on the authenticity of phansi-ghar (execution room) on the Assembly premises will be moved during the four-day Winter Session beginning Monday, sources said on Friday.

The business advisory committee of the Assembly met on Friday to consider the phansi-ghar issue, sources said. The meeting was attended by Speaker Vijender Gupta, Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, and MLAs Abhay Verma, Jitender Mahajan, Om Prakash Sharma, and Som Dutt.

Last August, the Speaker had alleged that crores of rupees were spent on the construction and advertisement of “fake phansi-ghar” by the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. Mr. Gupta referred the matter to the Committee of Privileges for inquiry, which summoned AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and three other party leaders several times for questioning. However, the AAP leaders skipped the summons, describing them as “legally untenable”.
