A rowdy-sheeter with a criminal past was stabbed to death at Pahadishareef late on Saturday night in what the police believe could be a revenge attack linked to an earlier murder.
The victim, Shaik Amair, 32, a resident of Chintalmet in Rajendranagar, was allegedly attacked by a group led by Ahmed, a relative of Mubarak Sigar, who was murdered two years ago. Amair had been named as an accused in that case.
According to the police, Amair arrived at a hotel in Chandrayangutta on Saturday night to discuss certain issues. Soon after, a group of men took him into a nearby lane, where he was stabbed multiple times. He died on the spot due to his injuries, the Pahadishareef police said.
Police records show that Amair was arrested and remanded for the murder of Mubarak Sigar, reported in January 2024. He was later released on bail.
