RPF constable saves woman who fell on track while boarding train

A 34-year-old woman was rescued by a Constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) after she fell from on the track while trying to board a train at the Chengalpattu railway station on Friday.

The video of the RPF constable rescuing the woman passenger has gone viral on social media.

A senior official of the RPF at the Chengalpattu station said S. Pramila, a resident of Vanur in Villupuram, along with her two children, was trying to board the train proceeding from Tambaram to Villupuram, when she lost her footing and fell through the gap between the train and the platform.

On seeing her fall on the track, K. Dayanidhi, who was on patrol duty at the railway station, blew the whistle and stopped the train that was about to move.

The constable immediately rescued her from the track.

He then arranged for the injured woman to be taken to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for treatment.
