Salem Railway Division observes Swachhata Hi Seva campaign

The Salem Division of the Southern Railway has begun the Swachhata Hi Seva (cleanliness is service) campaign in the district from Thursday (September 17, 2026), to October 2.

The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign commenced with the Swachhata pledge, which was administered by Panna Lal, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), to the officers and staff in the DRM’s Office, in the presence of R. Saravanan, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, H.B. Shivakumar, Chief Medical Superintendent, and Gokul, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer.

Officers in the DRM’s office took the pledge to improve and maintain cleanliness. Similarly, railway employees across various railway stations, offices, workshops in the division took the pledge and participated in various activities related to improving cleanliness.

In a release, the Salem Railway Division said that between September 17 and October 2, special drives and campaigns will be conducted to drive home the importance of cleanliness. Efforts will be taken to further improve the standards of cleanliness in trains, railway stations, and railway offices.
