Schoolboy falls from autorickshaw, dies while returning home in Thanjavur

Srinivasan, 9, of Annanagar, Thanjavur, a schoolboy, died after reportedly falling out of a moving autorickshaw in Thanjavur on Friday.

According to sources, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon on Nanjikottai Road while the victim was returning from his school in the autorickshaw, driven by Vinoth of Quaid-E-Millath Nagar, Thanjavur.

Seven students were travelling in the vehicle at the time of accident. Srinivasan fell from the moving vehicle resulting in bleeding injuries on his head. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Subsequently, the body was moved to the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The Thanjavur Traffic Police are investigating.
