Sengottaiyan asks pregnant women, children not to attend Vijay’s meeting in Erode on December 18

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) high-level administrative committee Chief Coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan on Monday said the police had advised that pregnant women, children and senior citizens should avoid attending Vijay’s campaign meeting scheduled for December 18.

Addressing the media, . Mr. Sengottaiyan said all arrangements were being made in compliance with rules, including facilities such as drinking water, 12 ambulances for medical emergencies, fire and rescue services, 40 CCTV cameras and adequate toilet facilities.

To prevent untoward incidents, barbed wire fencing has been erected around banners to prevent party workers from climbing on them, and a volunteer force will be deployed for security duties. There will be no token system for entry, and the public can attend and leave safely, he said.

Referring to Vijay’s recent programme in Puducherry, Mr. Sengottaiyan said the TVK leader had addressed the gathering at the specified place and time and would similarly arrive in Erode as scheduled.
