The Kerala High Court on Friday observed that there was ‘serious stagnation’ in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged misappropriation of gold from Sabarimala since December 5. The court directed the Investigating Officer to address the matter.
The Investigating Officer must effectuate investigation against all erring officers without any discrimination. The order, which permitting the first accused Unnikrishnan Potty to take the door frames and other items for gold cladding, and described the same as copper-plated was signed by A. Padmakumar, president, Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), N. Vijayakumar, Member, TDB and K.P. Sankardas, member, TDB, apart from S. Jayasree.
It is surprising to note that Mr. Vijayakumar and Mr. Sankardas were not arrested. This shows serious delay in the investigation after December 5 and the Investigating Officer must address the same.
