Two persons have been arrested for stabbing two migrant workers from Odisha on the Vaigai riverbed near Thiruppuvanam a few days ago.
Manosuran, 29, and Saswaraj Dekhuri, 25, both from Odisha, were employed at a private rubber and plastic ball manufacturing company located in the Manalur area near Thiruppuvanam.
On the night of December 30, the two workers went to the nearby Vaigai riverbed to relieve themselves. At the time, two men who were consuming alcohol in the vicinity attacked Manosuran and Saswaraj with a knife, issued death threats, and fled the scene.
Following a complaint, the Thiruppuvanam police registered a case and launched an investigation. They subsequently arrested Dinesh Kumar, 20, from Manalur and Ayyanar alias Gautham, 22, from Silaiman, Madurai.
