Members of the State men’s and women’s teams that took part in the 70th National Junior Ball Badminton Championship that concluded in Salem, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday.
The Karnataka women’s team defeated the Tamil Nadu team to bag the National Junior Ball Badminton Championship (NJBBC) title in the 70th NJBBC that concluded on the campus of Excel Group of Institutions in Komarapalyam, Salem, Tamil Nadu on Sunday.
The women’s team defeated the Tamil Nadu team, last year’s title winners, by 35-25 and 35-31. In the semi-finals, the women’s team defeated the Andhra Pradesh team by 35-28, 33-35, and 35-20.
The Karnataka men’s team emerged as runners-up, defeated in the finals by the Tamil Nadu team by 26-35 and 27-35. In the semifinals, the men’s team had defeated the Andhra Pradesh team. The final matches of the men’s and women’s teams were held on Sunday. Praveen Kumar, the Secretary of Karnataka Ball Badminton Association, was the coach of the women’s team, while Sudarshan was the coach for the men’s team.
