Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials and construction agencies to step up the pace of works in Amaravati and ensure that projects worth ₹2,000 crore are executed every month.
Mr. Naidu held a review meeting on the progress of Amaravati capital works with the officials and representatives of the contracting agencies at his Camp Office on Tuesday.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said 152 projects had been taken up in the capital region and around 41,000 workers were currently engaged in the works.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that works worth ₹1,345 crore had been executed during the previous month. Mr. Naidu directed them to increase the monthly execution value to ₹2,000 crore through better planning and coordination.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to expedite the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project by coordinating with the Centre. He stressed that there should be no laxity or negligence in the execution of the capital works and called for timely completion while maintaining quality.
Reviewing the progress of the iconic buildings, Mr. Naidu said there should be no delay in their construction. He emphasised that the Secretariat towers and the Assembly building should have an iconic character.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to impart modern skills to personnel in the construction sector on the lines of the National Academy of Construction.
