Five persons, including two women, were arrested as the State Task Force of the Telangana Excise and prohibition Department seized ganja in multiple operations across Hyderabad.
In the first case, the State Task Force-A team arrested two women, identified as H. Basanti and Komple Premala, for selling ganga near Nampally Basti Hospital and seized 1.12 kilograms of ganja from them. Police said a case was also registered against one Mohammed Soyal for his involvement. The seized contraband and the accused were produced before the Nampally Excise authorities.
In another raid, the STF-D team conducted raids at three locations and arrested three people with ganja. Police seized 280 grams of ganja from a person identified as Raghupathi Harish near Forum Mall in the Kukatpally area, 350 grams of the banned substance from Karam Thoti Mahesh at Vinayak Nagar in Golconda and 300 grams of the contraband from Nikhil Prem Kumar in Ameerpet.
Police said further investigation is underway, and all the cases have been transferred to respective excise stations for legal action.
