District Collector Ranjeet Singh disbursed education loan to the tune of ₹1.40 crore to 24 students at the district-level review committee meeting to assess the performance of the banks held on Friday.
The loans have been released by various banks to assist students financially for their higher education.
Moreover, the Collector also handed over the loan disbursement orders to the tune of ₹1.08 crore to 40 entrepreneurs.
“The banks and the district administration will jointly conduct ‘Yuva Connect’ campaign across the district from October 2 onwards to popularise the educational loan schemes for higher education and the procedure to avail this assistance from the banks. Hence, all the banks should actively participate in this campaign to take the message to the students,” said Mr. Ranjeet Singh, who honoured the managers of nine banks that achieved the target set for the previous Annual Credit Plan and the ACP quarterly targets.
The Collector also exhorted the bankers to achieve the loan targets for this fiscal by disbursing loans to the right beneficiaries within the shortest possible time.
