The Tamil Nadu Infectious Disease Conclave (TNIDC) was conducted here on September 19 and 20 on the theme “The Future of Infectious Diseases: Innovate – Integrate – Inspire.”
The conclave brought together physicians, paediatricians, intensivists, microbiologists and infectious disease specialists from across India and abroad for scientific discussions on sepsis and ICU infections, antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis, vaccination, fever syndromes, diagnostic advances and infections in immunocompromised patients.
The two-day programme featured expert lectures, interactive panel discussions, case presentations, oral and poster presentations, and an academic quiz, with active participation from postgraduate students and young consultants.
Pal Manickam, noted gastroenterologist and healthcare educator and social media influencer, was the Chief Guest.
M. V. Muthuramalingam, Chairman, Velammal Educational Trust, also participated in the event and extended his support to the academic initiative.
The conclave was conducted by Dr. N. Santhanam, Infectious Disease Specialist, Velammal Medical College, Madurai, with the objective of promoting practical, evidence-based and multidisciplinary approaches to infectious disease management.
