YSRCP senior leader and former Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy on Sunday flayed the NDA alliance leadership, particularly the Telugu Desam Party leaders, for what he termed their continued attempts to spread falsehoods over the ghee adulteration issue.
Addressing a media conference here, he questioned why the TDP leaders were persisting with what he described as a non-issue even after the Special Investigation Team headed by the CBI, constituted on the directions of the Supreme Court, had categorically stated that there was no presence of animal fat in the ghee supplied to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the preparation of the famed Laddu Prasadam.
âWhy is the Chief Minister bent on creating confusion among the public through false statements? Does he intend to suggest that the SIT constituted under the directions of the Supreme Court erred in its investigation?â he asked.
Instead of clearing the air and instilling confidence among the crores of Hindu devotees who repose immense faith in Lord Venkateswara, the ruling party was making concerted efforts to perpetuate what he called an erroneous narrative, Mr. Bhaskar Reddy said.
He further wondered how the TDP and certain media houses sympathetic to the ruling party continued to rake up the issue even after it had effectively been settled with the submission of the final chargesheet to the court. Appealing to devotees not to be misled by what he termed fallacious statements of the ruling party leaders, he urged them to remain steadfast in their devotion to the Lord of Seven Hills.
