TPCC led by its president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud held a rally in Hyderabad on Monday (September 28, 2026) demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Demanding resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, Telangana Congress leaders and cadre have taken out a protest rally from the Indira Gandhi statue on the Necklace Road to the Election Commission’s office in Hyderabad on Monday (September 28, 2026) and held a dharna opposite to the Commission’s office blaming the CEC of alleged “vote chori”.
Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud said they are protesting against Election Commission of India’s (ECI) ‘mishandling’ of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. He sought the Commission to publicly clarify the objections reportedly raised by two Election Commissioners over various aspects of the SIR. MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had influenced CEC to delete the votes to make sure that they continue in power for 50 years.
