Three migrant workers were arrested before they could flee to their native State in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old contract worker at Hyundai Mobis near Katramapakkam on Wednesday.
The deceased, Gulshan Kumar, 25 a native of Bihar, was allegedly attacked near Nookalathamman Temple by his co-workers following an earlier quarrel and dispute. The accused have been identified as Topon Doley (20), Akash Kakholori (19) and Babu Khan Tumari (20). Another accused, identified as Bikash, is also being traced.
During the assault, Doley allegedly restrained Gulshan Kumar while another accused attacked him with a knife, causing a cut injury to his neck. The victim died in the incident. Somangalam police registered a case and launched an investigation. As the three accused were reportedly planning to flee to their native State, a special team led by the Inspector of Police, Somangalam station, launched a search and traced them before they could escape. They were arrested and further investigation is under way.
