Grime, pencil and pen marks and splatter of paints on school benches are more than a visual eyesore. Their appearance can affect the learning environment in a classroom.
Thuvakkam is starting “School Benches Revamp – Paint with Purpose” initiative to transform old and faded school benches into bright and welcoming furniture for students. They are looking for volunteers who are willing to clean and paint benches in government and government-aided institutions across Chennai. Paint and other supplies needed to spruce up the classroom benches will be provided by the NGO.
The first such drive will be held at a government school in Ambattur on October 17; 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
To volunteer for such drives, register by contacting Kodama Durga Prasad at 9884403762
