As part of its efforts to expand renewable energy use and reduce electricity expenditure, Tiruchi Corporation has initiated steps to establish additional solar power infrastructure at Panjapur.
A new 7.2 MW solar power plant has been proposed on 16 acres of land at an estimated cost of ₹39 crore. The site is located adjacent to the existing 9.6 MW solar power facility at Panjapur. A detailed project report has been submitted to the Municipal Administration Department seeking financial support, and the proposal is currently awaiting administrative approval from the State government.
