‘Today’s Reader is Tomorrow’s Leader’

PSN College of Engineering and Technology, Melathediyoor, in association with Nellai MS Academy, Tirunelveli, organised an orientation programme titled “Today’s Reader is Tomorrow’s Leader,” to emphasise the importance of developing daily reading habits among students.

M. Saravanan, director of Nellai MS Academy, served as the resource person addressing the students on the significance of reading The Hindu newspaper every day. He said that consistent newspaper reading helps budding engineers enhance their communication skills, enrich their vocabulary, improve awareness on current affairs and develop critical and analytical thinking abilities.

The programme was organised under the guidance of P. Selva Kumar, executive director, PSN College of Engineering and Technology.

Climate change awareness programme

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) cell of Kamaraj Women’s College, Thoothukudi, organised an awareness programme on “Climate Change Mitigation through Sustainable Lifestyle Practices.” The programme was organised under the guidance of P. Aruna Devi, UBA coordinator, to create awareness among rural students about environmentally responsible lifestyles and practical measures to reduce carbon emissions.

Vanmathi, principal of the college, lauded the initiative and emphasised the importance of adopting sustainable practices in everyday life.

Orientation programme for first-year students

Einstein College of Engineering, Tirunelveli, organised an orientation programme for the first-year students. Principal R. Velayutham welcomed the students and highlighted the college’s achievements, placement opportunities and the importance of making effective use of facilities in the college. Managing trustee A. Amudhavanan and other trustees A. Ezhilvanan and A. Mathivanan were also present at the event.

Awareness on competitive examination

Sadakath Competitive Examination Centre of Sadakathullah Appa College, Palayamkottai, in partnership with KingMakers IAS Academy, Madurai, conducted an awareness programme on civil services examination at the college auditorium.

S.M. Abdul Kader, principal underscored the significance of civil services examination as a platform for public service and nation-building.

At the event, Bharath Balamurugan, Branch Head and Programme Director, KingMaker IAS Academy, outlined the structure of the civil structures examination and discussed systematic approaches to preparation.

More than 200 students representing various departments attended the programme.
