
Tiruppur Collector Manish Narnaware hands over welfare kits to beneficiaries during the Republic Day celebrations at Chikkanna Government Arts and Science College on Monday.

At the Republic Day celebrations held on the premises of Chikkanna Government Arts and Science College in Tiruppur, District Collector Manish Narnaware unfurled the National flag, received the guard of honour by police personnel and handed over benefits of the tune of ₹3.36 crore to 51 beneficiaries.
The Collector honoured freedom fighters and their descendants by adorning them with shawls, and honoured 206 employees of various government departments with certificates in recognition of their meritorious service.
Of the 89 police personnel honoured with the merit certificates, 61 belonged to the City Commissionerate and the rest constituted rural police personnel.
About 800 school students staged cultural performances extolling patriotism. Commissioner of Police S. Rajendran, Superintendent of Police Yadav Girish Ashok and other senior officials took part.
The Collector later took part in the Grama Sabha meeting at Kalinjipalayam and took stock of the progress of development activities on various fronts including infrastructure and health care.
