Farmers in rural parts of Tiruppur have urged the State government to provide subsidy for raising indigenous breed cattle, citing the rising input costs for maintenance.

At some point, farmers start looking for nearest opportunities for disposing off their cattle, as maintaining a native breed cow incurs expenditure of no less than ₹200 for fodder per day.
