Though there are buses operated from Madurai to Dhanushkodi on the highway, people have to trek for about two kilometres from the road to reach Ariyaman beach in Ramanathapuram district now.

Appealing to the Department of Tourism to ply more buses to Ariyaman beach from Ramanathapuram, Rameswaram, Mandapam and Pamban, tourists urged to improve infrastructure facilities in the picturesque spot.
The beach, which is about 20 km from Rameswaram, attracts huge crowds during holidays. With school vacation on, children throng the beach even during the daytime despite the scorching sun.
