To ease traffic congestion, the Forest Department has launched an initiative for the benefit of tourists. Tourists planning to visit Pillar Rocks, Guna Caves, Pine Forest and Moir Point can now book tickets online on the website https://www.kodaikanalwildlifesanctuary.com
Earlier, entry fees to these tourist sites were collected at the location. This forced tourists to wait in long queues to purchase tickets. Subsequently, a system was introduced to collect fees for these sites at a single location. It resulted in traffic congestion.
To address this issue, a QR code payment system was introduced. However, poor network connectivity in the area caused inconvenience to the tourists.
QR code scanner were placed at key locations along main roads to facilitate payments. As this measure did not yield significant results, the new initiative has been announced. Tourists can now make their payments from the comfort of their homes. This move is expected to reduce traffic congestion.
