The Podanur Junction in Coimbatore will be the originating station for some trains till May 5 in view of track maintenance works.

The Southern Railway, on May 1, 2026 (Friday), began engineering works on railway tracks between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur Junction. The works will be carried out from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day until May 5.

Some of the train services that were scheduled to originate from Coimbatore Junction will depart from Podanur Junction. The trains are: Coimbatore-Madurai Express (No.16721 departing at 92.45 p.m. at Podanur Junction), Coimbatore-Shoranur Passenger Train (No. 56603 departing at 4.38 p.m.), Coimbatore-Kannur Express (No. 16608 departing at 2.03 p.m.), and Coimbatore-Hissar Weekly Express (No. 22476 departing at 2.55 p.m. on Saturday).

Coimbatore-Jabalpur Special Train (No. 02197) will depart from Podanur at 5.05 p.m. on May 4.
