M.S. Shanmugam, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Tamil writer Imayam, author Manushyaputhiran, poet and writer Prasanna Ramaswamy, M. Gunasekaran, Editor, Sun TV, released the Tamil book “Thandakaranyathil Seethai” at Tower Park, Anna Nagar, on Saturday.

Tamil Nadu Secretary II to CM M.S. Shanmugam released writer Imayam’s Dhandakaaranyathil Seethai, a collection of Tamil short stories here on Saturday. The book was received by poet Manushyaputhiran. The programme was organised in association with the Tower Reads, a silent reading club in Tower Park. The book focuses on Seetha’s role during the exile with Rama and Lakshman.
Noting that the release took place among the public writer Imayam said that literature must be taken to the streets.
Addressing the gathering, writer Manushyaputhiran said, “Most of Imayam’s literary works focus on the reality of human life. These stories must not be read as just stories, it also shows the life of Tamil people.” Readings from the released collection were also taken up, including the title short story Dhandakarunyathil Seethai and another story, Adangatha Alugai’.
