TTD to introduce QR codes, kiosks in its temples

In a significant move to enhance digital convenience for pilgrims, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is contemplating installing kiosk machines and QR codes to facilitate UPI payments in all its 60 temples spread across various States in the country.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level review meeting chaired by TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal on Monday at the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati. 

Directing officials to ensure seamless implementation, he said the initiative would enable devotees to make offerings and payments in a hassle-free manner, in line with modern digital practices. He also instructed them to collect structured feedback from devotees on TTD services at Tiruchanoor and the Tirupati Govindaraja Swamy temples.

Mr. Singhal asked the Chief Engineer to prepare two to three standardised templates for the proposed construction of 5,000 temples in backward regions so as to speed up execution and maintain uniformity. Stressing financial discipline, he directed that payments to contractors should not be delayed.

Reviewing the progress on the proposed temples at Belgavi in Karnataka and the allotment of land for the construction of the temple of Lord Venkateswara by the Bihar government in Patna, he directed the senior officials to also conduct field-level inspections of the Bandra temple in Mumbai.  

On publications, he ordered the constitution of an expert committee to review the distribution of previously printed spiritual books and directed reprinting of high-demand titles based on readers’ preferences.
