The Tambaram Central Crime Branch arrested two men in connection with an attempt to fraudulently take over a 2,400-sq.ft property in Arul Nagar, Guduvanchery, valued around ₹1 crore.
The police said that a case was registered on May 2 following a complaint by Ganesan, 82. The police said that G. Munusamy impersonated the complainant, while L. Sathyakumar helped register forged documents to facilitate the sale of the property.
Munusamy and Sathyakumar were arrested, produced before Judicial Magistrate-II Court in Chengalpattu, and remanded in judicial custody.
Tambaram City Police said further arrests are expected, including of those alleged to have masterminded the preparation of the forged documents and others who assisted in the offence.
