The Hindu, in association with Kauvery Hospital, will conduct a webinar at 11.30 a.m. on Monday (September 28, 2026) on the prevention, detection, and treatment of heart disease.
The webinar, held to mark World Heart Day on September 29 and titled ‘Don’t Miss a Beat: Prevent, Detect, and Treat Heart Disease’, will bring together specialists in different areas of cardiac care to examine how developments in diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation are changing the management of heart disease. The session is held as part of The Hindu’s Wellness Series.
The panel will feature Ajith Pillai, HOD, interventional cardiologist, Kauvery Hospital, Radial Road; Arunkumar Krishnaswamy, senior consultant and cardiothoracic surgeon, Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet; Mahadevan V., senior consultant, interventional cardiology and diabetology, Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani; and Javid Raja, consultant, Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon, Kauvery Hospital, Heartcity, Tiruchi.
The panellists will discuss the role of minimally invasive valve procedures, newer approaches to coronary artery bypass surgery, and minimally invasive robotic cardiac surgery, besides touching on the importance of prevention and cardiac rehabilitation in maintaining long-term heart health. The webinar will also focus on congenital heart disease in children, emphasising the need for early detection and appropriate treatment.
