An 18-year-old woman from Jharkhand died after her husband allegedly pushed her out of an autorickshaw during a family dispute near Sathyamangalam here on Tuesday evening (October 13, 2026).

The deceased, Namita, and her husband, Yamilal (20), belonged to the Dhaka village in Jharkhand. The couple were employed at a private yarn mill on the Sathyamangalam–Coimbatore Road.

According to the police, the couple had gone shopping for groceries and were returning to the mill in an autorickshaw when an argument broke out between them. During the quarrel, Yamilal allegedly pushed Namita out of the vehicle.

She sustained severe injuries. Passers-by rushed to her aid and arranged for her to be taken by ambulance to the Sathyamangalam Government Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The Sathyamangalam police registered a case and arrested Yamilal. Further investigation is under way.
