Yathindra inspects Dasara infrastructure, directs speedy completion of works

With the city gearing up for the Mysuru Dasara festivities, Minister in-charge of Mysuru district Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Wednesday inspected various infrastructure and ongoing works across the city and directed officials to complete them at the earliest.

During an inspection of the food mela venue at Maharaja’s College grounds, Dr. Yathindra instructed officials to ensure adequate drinking water and shaded areas for visitors. He also directed them to strictly segregate wet and dry waste generated at the venue and ensure its scientific disposal.

With lakhs of tourists expected to visit Mysuru during Dasara, the Minister inspected road development works at several key locations. He directed officials to expedite works at Royal Inn Junction on the KRS Road, Kempegowda Junction on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Road, Pushpashrama Road and near Devalapura Circle at Hosahundi, and open the roads to traffic at the earliest.

He later inspected the Yuva Dasara venue at Uthanahalli and reviewed preparations, including construction of the main stage. He instructed officials to ensure adequate drinking water, lighting, toilets and security arrangements for the convenience of youngsters and the public.

At Chamundi Hill and the Karnataka Exhibition Authority premises, he reviewed ongoing works and directed officials to ensure shaded areas and smooth parking facilities for devotees visiting the hill. He also instructed them to speed up works at the exhibition grounds so that the exhibition could be opened to the public as scheduled.

At the Mysuru Palace, Dr. Yathindra inspected preparations, including construction of the temporary main stage, illumination, seating and toilet facilities. The government was committed to providing tourists visiting the Nada Habba with a safe and well-organised experience, he said.

MLAs Darshan Dhruvanarayan and Harish Gowda, MLCs K. Shivakumar and D. Thimmaiah, and senior officials were present.

The Minister later inaugurated his new office on the premises of Zilla Panchayat here.
