The Airports Authority of India (AAI) organised various programmes for passengers at the Coimbatore International Airport on Wednesday to begin the 24-day campaign ‘Yatri Seva Abhiyan’, a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening passenger-centric services.

Airport Director Mohammad Arif inaugurated the campaign in the presence of AAI staff and various stakeholders. Vande Mataram was rendered at the event, followed by Bharatanatyam performance in the departure and arrival sections.

Mr. Arif and other staff interacted with passengers and took feedback from them regarding hospitality, passenger assistance and travel experience.

According to AAI,  the campaign is being organised with the objective of strengthening passenger facilitation, service quality, safety, cleanliness and courteous passenger service at airports. It is envisaged as a 24-day focused passenger service initiative, with a distinct theme and set of activities planned for each day. A cultural programme for passengers is proposed to be organised at the airport on September 27 on the occasion of World Tourism Day. A voluntary cleanliness drive is planned on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The AAI staff will audit various facilities for passengers, including those for persons with reduced mobility (PRM), at the airport during the campaign.
