Youth murdered over obscene messages in Chennai’s Mangadu; two held

The Mangadu police have arrested two persons for the murder of a 20-year-old man on Saturday (September 26, 2026). 

A senior officer of the Avadi police Commissionerate said, on Saturday, Yuvanesh, a resident of Mangadu, was found dead in a well with his body tied to a heavy stone. Based on the complaint filed by one of his parents, the Mangadu police filed a murder case.

Following investigation, the police arrested his two friends Devadhayalan alias Vicky and Parthiban in connection with the murder. The duo allegedly confessed to the police that they murdered Yuvanesh as he sent obscene messages and images to Devadhayalan’s girlfriend. 

The two accused were later produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to prison.
