AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Wednesday urged Central government’s reported decision to increase rail fare that would affect the middle-class.
In a social media post, Mr. Palaniswami referred to Mr. Stalin’s post urging the Union government to revoke its reported decision to increase rail fare. “The Central government’s decision to increase fare affecting the middle class is not acceptable. I urge to drop the proposal.”
Mr. Palaniswami further observed that the people in Vellore were disappointed not because of that but due to the rising taxes under the DMK government. During the past four years, there have been increase in property tax, electricity tariff, water charges, milk price, registration charges, among others, the former CM contended.
