Finally, one of the demands of air passengers has become a reality as free WiFi is now available at the international terminal of the Chennai airport.
Officials of Airports Authority of India (AAI) said the facility was available at the T2 International Terminal from Wednesday, and nearly 200 passengers had utilised the services so far.
“We had planned to make this facility available before June 30 and wanted to meet the deadline. We have installed four kiosks in total — two each at the departure and arrival halls. Staff have been posted near the kiosks to help passengers use them. If there are any initial glitches, we will sort them out immediately,” an official said. Passengers can use up to 500 MB of data.
Upon scanning their passports and boarding passes, passengers will receive the OTP to access WiFi on a slip, the official said.
